How To Install Apple Beta Software?

Members of the Apple Developer Program have access to beta versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. Members may create apps that make use of the newest capabilities offered by Apple platforms and check the compatibility of already existing apps.

Using the configuration profile during installation


  • The configuration profile may be downloaded from the download page.

Using the configuration profile during installation

  • From the download page on your Mac, download the tvOS beta software setup profile for the Apple TV 4K.
  • Ensure that macOS 10.13.4 or later is installed, and that Xcode 12 or a later version is running on your computer.
  • Make sure your Apple TV is powered on and plugged in.
  • Join your Mac to the same network as your Apple TV.
  • Select Devices and Simulators from the Window menu in Xcode, then click Devices in the resulting window.
  • Open Settings on Apple TV and choose Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices. Apple TV looks for potential partnering gadgets.
  • Choose your Apple TV from the Discovered list on the left column of Xcode. The detail box displays the status of the Apple TV connection request.
  • Click Connect after entering the verification code seen on Apple TV. When Xcode and Apple TV couple, a network symbol is displayed in the left column next to your Apple TV.

  • NOTE: Put your Apple TV in recovery mode if the Finder doesn’t identify it:
  1. Make sure your Mac is linked to Apple TV.
  2. Hold MENU + Play/Pause on the provided remote control for six seconds until the indicator light starts to blink erratically.
  3. Step 6 should be followed to restore Apple TV.

WatchOS beta

  • You’ll require the following to upgrade the Apple Watch’s software:
  1. Ensure that your Apple Watch is at least 50% charged.
  2. Wi-Fi-connect your iPhone.
  3. To ensure they are in communication range, place your iPhone next to your Apple Watch.
  4. Make sure iOS 14 beta is installed on your iPhone.

  • Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then select My Watch > General > Software Update.
  • When asked, enter the passcode for your Apple Watch or iPhone.
  • Watch for the progress bar and Apple logo to appear. Your Apple Watch will restart once the update is complete. On your device, make sure Developer Mode is enabled.
