Nothing has now released Nothing OS 1.5 for all Nothing Users
Since Nothing’s debut phone, the Nothing Phone (1), was introduced seven months ago. The Phone (1) was an enormous success, and users are happy with it. Since its debut, Nothing has released several updates for the Nothing OS, a device with its own custom stock android design, to increase stability. The Phone (1) first came with Android 12. As promised, Nothing would provide its user base with 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates. So, as of right now, Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 is available to all Nothing Users. Let’s discuss the new features that Nothing is bringing to its users.

To begin with, update your Nothing Phone (1) as soon as you can to take advantage of the brand-new Nothing OS 1.5. Go to Settings > System > System update > Check for update to update your phone (1). But if you signed up for Nothing’s beta program, you could have already received Android 13 six or seven days ago.

1. Nothing Apps
a. The all New Weather App
For Nothing OS 1.5, Nothing has now created its own Weather app with a distinctive new design and the company’s signature dotted aesthetic. Users may use the new weather app after updating to Nothing OS 1.5, which is based on Android 13.
b. Camera App Improvements
The UI of Nothing’s Camera App has been improved, and users can now scan any QR code with the Camera by default. No third-party QR code scanner is required.
2. More Customization on Nothing OS 1.5
a. New Glyph Sound Packs
Nothing has now brought 11 new ringtones and 10 new notification sounds. Users can now have more fun with all the new Nothing tunes. All new tunes are fully Glyph synced.
b. Customizable Lock Screen
Now, you may organize the lock screen shortcuts to suit your preferences. Go to Settings > Display > Lock screen > Lockscreen shortcut to accomplish this. The choices are Button left and Button right. Device controls, Google Wallet, Torch, and Camera are all options you may choose to keep. Instead, you may choose None to remove all shortcuts from your lock screen.
3. Improved UI on Nothing OS 1.5
a. Smarter Quick Settings
By utilising dual sims, users can now quickly switch between mobile data. To switch the internet from one sim to another, there is no need to open the settings and look for mobile data. To use this function, simply open the notification bar and press on the mobile network button.
b. All New Volume Control
Volume slider was added to Nothing OS 1.5, allowing users to simultaneously change the level of alarms, media sounds, and ringtones. Moreover, you may directly use the volume slider to toggle on or off silent mode or vibration. Also you can control volumes of all sounds including system and alarm without unlocking the device.
c. Game Mode Improvements
There are now several elements in game mode for a more fluid and interactive gaming experience. Users may now open the floating game menu icon while playing a game to access all of its capabilities, including taking screenshots, recording the game, displaying frame rates, and turning on/off do not disturb. In addition to this, there are a few more game-related features including YouTube Live, achievements, leaderboards, and optimization (Only for certain games).
d. Improved Pop-up View
Pop-up views have been enhanced. Now, it’s smoother than it was. Also, it won’t close accidentally, which is more crucial. It’s size can be reduced or increased based on your needs.
4. Updated Android 13 Features on Nothing OS 1.5
a. Dynamic Color Theme
Nothing OS 1.5 based on Android 13 now offers theme colors that are more precise and particular based on the chosen wallpaper. There are now additional color schemes available with Themed icons set.
b. QR Code Scanner
There is now a shortcut for a QR Code scanner in the notification bar. Android 13 comes with this capability by default. By heading to the notification bar, selecting the edit button, and then looking for “Scan QR Code,” you may access it.
c. Media Control on Nothing
There are new buttons and a playback bar on the media control. The redesigned playing bar has a larger selection of music controls and fully displays album art.
d. Keep track of background running apps
Users may now quickly monitor the applications that are running in the background and force-quit them if required. This may prolong the battery’s life. This functionality may be accessed by completely expanding the notification bar, which will then display the applications that are now running in the background on the lower right side. You can choose to close all the apps or one by one according to your needs.
